Although the existing solution offered customers the ability to create and manage Direct Debit mandates for their tenants, many avoided using it as it was unable to offer the functionality they required and the set up of new Direct Debits was overly complicated and difficult to train end users on.
Customers wanted a simplified solution that enabled them to set up multiple mandates in a single process to collect a tenants rent and any outstanding arrears. Customers also wanted the flexibility to be able to take upfront payments, advance payments and the ability to easily adjust the monthly payment based on what the tenant could afford. In addition to this users wanted to be provided with a clearer picture of the breakdown of scheduled payments so this could be communicated to the tenant.
