Creating orders form a big part of managing housing stock. Although this feature had been added to over many years which resulted in flexibility for users, it was hard to use as the views had become over populated with input options. The vast majority of users didn’t need to add detail, they just needed to create a shell of an order and allow contractors to add detail out in the field via an entirely different product.
Many orders also needed to be split into multiple different orders so they could be managed individually by specific or specialised contractors. This process in the current solution was very difficult as you had to manually switch to sub orders whilst creating the main order.
This provided us with an opportunity to reduce the input shown on screen to simplify and speed up the process and allow users to create multiple orders from a single view.
